UMOJA INTERNATIONAL BIBLE COLLEGE BRIDGE COURSE

The UIBC Bridge Course is designed to equip students with essential foundational skills in
leadership and ministry, preparing them for the rigors of the Bachelor of Leadership and
Practical Ministry program. The course focuses on three key areas:

  1. Research and Writing for Theological Studies:
  • This course is designed to equip students with the essential research and writing
skills required for academic success in theological studies. It introduces students
to effective research methodologies, critical analysis, and academic writing
techniques specific to the field of theology and ministry. Students will learn to
formulate strong thesis statements, structure coherent arguments, and engage with
theological literature. Emphasis is placed on proper citation, avoiding plagiarism,
and using tools such as libraries and online resources to conduct research. This
course is foundational for producing well-reasoned, theologically sound written
    work in their academic journey.

2. Introduction to Practical Ministry:

  • This course provides a hands-on introduction to the principles and practices of
ministry in various contexts. Students will explore the everyday responsibilities and
challenges of ministry leadership, including pastoral care, community outreach,
and church administration. The course emphasizes developing practical skills for
effective ministry, such as time management, ethical decision-making, and servant
leadership. Real-life case studies and scenarios will allow students to apply
theoretical knowledge in practical settings, preparing them for leadership roles
    within their churches and communities.

3. Introduction to Ministry Communication and Public Speaking:

  • This course focuses on developing communication and public speaking skills
tailored explicitly for ministry contexts. Students will learn the principles of effective
verbal and non-verbal communication, how to craft sermons, deliver impactful
messages, and lead public worship services. Emphasis is placed on clarity,
confidence, and audience engagement, with practical exercises in preaching,
teaching, and leading meetings. Students will also study Biblical examples of
effective communication and the role of communication in church leadership. This
course prepares students to confidently speak and teach in front of congregations
    and other public forums.
